FAQ

  • When are you open?

My office is open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday. I normally take an hour for lunch. The office will be closed for all major holidays.

  • How can I track my tax refund?

Use the IRS “Where’s My Refund?” tool to find up-to-date information about the status of your refund. You can access this tool by visiting www.irs.gov/refunds.

  • How can I get a copy of my taxes from you?

Secure File Pro is our online client portal offering a safe way to send and receive client information. I encourage clients to use this portal rather than email attachments for security purposes. For returns completed by other preparers, you can request an IRS transcript online or in person.

  • What if I forgot my username or password for Secure File Pro?

Unfortunately, I am unable to reset passwords or usernames on your behalf. Click “Forgot username or password” on the login screen for assistance.

  • I would like to add another user to my client portal, such as a spouse or a financial advisor. How can I do that?

Secure File Pro only allows one user per portal account. However, you may download documents from the portal and distribute them as needed. This is more secure than providing your username and password to other parties.

  • I received a letter from the IRS. What should I do now?

Please send me a copy of the letter so that I can advise you appropriately.

  • What should I do if the IRS calls me and says I owe money?

The IRS will contact you by letter, not by phone, to collect payment. These calls are always a scam.

  • Will you contact the IRS on my behalf?

I can help with contacting the IRS for things like back taxes owed, liens, levies, seizures, garnishments, IRS payment plans, etc. This is billed on an hourly basis.

  • Do you provide notary services?

Yes! I am a notary public for the state of Florida. I can notarize documents for a small fee.

  • What do I need to bring for my taxes?

Here’s a general list: Proof of identification (photo ID); Social Security cards for you, your spouse and dependents; Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return; Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R,1099-Misc) from all employers; Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099); A copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available; Proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a blank check; To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms; Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business Employer Identification Number; Forms 1095-A, B and C, Health Coverage Statements

  • Will you do my taxes during my appointment?

My philosophy is this: you can file taxes quickly or you can file them correctly. I don’t do instant taxes because I want to ensure you’re getting thorough, accurate, and detailed attention. It’s worth the wait—I promise!
